Hello everyone! It's Walt speaking today! I was thinking this afternoon about Pastor Smoose's sermon this morning. He spoke about a race as a metaphor for our faith. He told us the story of an Olympian who was injured real bad but worked his way back into the competition. As it turns out runners and other athletes aren't in it just to win it's about a love of the game. This is how our faith works too. Yeah we want to do it right, and we want to be the best but in God's world that's not exactly how it works. In His world the slowest, the injured, the weak are equal to those in the lead. We welcome all of God's people to run next to us. Not so we can show them who's better but so we can lean on each other and live our faith together. I hope you think about this as you are working through school and life, and consider the comfort we recieve from the love of Christ. We can be the worst, we can totally forget God every day and He will be waiting whenever we are ready to run back into His arms!
Just want to let you all know about an exciting new opportunity for this summer. Jamie's home church is attending a Gathering called DCLA (http://dcla2009.com/) It's going to be an exciting event full of great bands, great worship, and great fun. It is open to all youth from 6th-12th grade. We will be going with them so you won't be alone with people you don't know. It's going to be an awesome experience, with a chance to meet new people and experience God in a whole new light!

Happy New Year to you all! and boy is it a cold one. We are not enjoying winter very much but we are excited to start a fresh new year and to continue our work here at reformation. It's pretty awesome to think of another year past and all the blessings God has given us. We want to encourage you in these early days of the new year to reflect on last year, the good and the bad, and to learn from that information. God has given us a new year a new day and a fresh start. It's never to late to turn around our lives and fix our mistakes of the past. We all know that we will not be able stop making mistakes altogether but by considering our mistakes and praying for guidance we can change our ways and follow the path we are called to follow. Have faith in yourself and have faith in our Lord.
We have some exciting plans for youth group this spring so keep coming out and see whats gonna happen. Also look forward to seeing/hearing new opportunities to serve our church and each other.

Well I'm finally recovered from Friday. For those of you who don't know we had a lock-in on Friday. It was so much fun! We ate too much pizza, watched movies, and played games all night. It was a fun night to just be together as the youth of Reformation Lutheran Church. We hope to see you the coming weeks at youth group Sunday evenings.
Hello! It was great to see you all at the pool party Saturday, and we missed all of you who couldn't make it. I'm at the church tonight for a meeting about the National youth gathering, and i want to let you know about it. The National Youth Gathering is held every 3 years. This coming summer the gathering is going to be in New Orleans Louisiana. It's going to be awesome this time around too. It will be 4 days long with about 36000 other Lutherans. This is your opportunity to meet new people, help the people of New Orleans, and most importantly see God and faith in a whole new way. It's going to be an amazing experience. Let us know whether you'd like to come with. Walt.

I'm a Junior at Eastern University studying Youth Ministry. I've been involved in youth ministry as long as I've been able to. I like ska, rock, and some rap. I'm a big fan of Agape, Family Force 5, emery, and the FLOBOTS. I love getting to know people. I enjoy being outside. I know random facts. and I like candy way too much.
